Ramechhap Municipality Ward No. 6 and 7, Bhalukhop Danda, located on the border of wards 6 and 7, has seen a significant influx of domestic tourists on the occasion of the New Year 2083. The hill area itself was lively with the influx of tourists who came for sightseeing on the first day of the year.
Locals said that the number of visitors has increased significantly with the construction of a view tower in this area, which has tourism potential. According to them, the arrival of tourists this year has been even more exciting than last year.
From the view tower located on Bhalukhop Danda, one can observe a beautiful view of the vast areas of Okhaldhunga and Sindhuli districts, including Ramechhap. According to Ramchandra BK, who visited, the natural beauty and wide landscape seen from the height have been particularly attractive to tourists.
The 60-foot-high view tower of Ramechhap Municipality was built a few years ago at a cost of about 14.1 million rupees. Toilets, guard houses, ticket counters and drinking water facilities have also been built to make this area more organized.
However, despite the infrastructure being built, tourists have complained that the management aspect seems weak. According to Sarita Shrestha of Puranagaun, Manthali Municipality-9, there is no water supply even though there is a drinking water tap and the toilets are closed, due to which tourists have to face inconvenience. She pointed out the need for the local government to pay attention to this immediately.
Especially in the Bhalukhop area, also known as Tower Hill, attractive stairs have been built on the more than 300-meter steep path leading to the View Tower with the investment of the Bagmati Province Government, making access easier. Arrangements have been made to charge a fee of Rs 20 per person to climb the View Tower. As infrastructure is being developed under the joint initiative of the local level and the province government, Bhalukhop Hill is becoming established as a domestic tourist destination.
