Traffic operations have been suspended on the BP Highway after the water level in the Roshi Khola in the district started rising.

Traffic operations have been suspended on the Bhakunde-Nepalthok section of the highway from 7 pm on Monday, considering the risk of rain, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabin Bista, Information Officer of the District Police Office, Kavre.

According to him, vehicles are currently being held in Kavrebhanjyang and Nepalthok. He informed that the transport hold and management was done in coordination with the neighboring Sindhuli district.

He said that due to heavy rains in Panauti, Namobuddha, Katunje, Mangaltar, Kavrebhanjyang and other places, traffic operations have been suspended considering the risk of flooding in the Roshi Khola and the risk of it reaching the highway. The police have requested the public to travel only after understanding the condition of the highway.

The BP Highway, which was damaged by the floods of Asoj 2081, is currently being reconstructed. Due to this, vehicles have been operating on a temporary track built on the river from Chowkidanda to Nepalthok.
