Two students who went swimming in the Narayani River have drowned. According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, two students studying at Moonlight Boarding School in Bahraghere drowned in the Narayani River near Bahraghere Chowk in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-3 on Sunday afternoon.
According to District Police Spokesperson DSP Rabindra Khanal, 13-year-old Sanam Ramtel and Prashant Chhetri, both of whom were studying in class 7 and hailing from Sharanpur, Bharatpur Metropolitan City-16, have died. A police team along with disaster management personnel were deployed to search and rescue the missing students who drowned in the river.
The rescue team found both of them around 2 pm and took them to the Bharatpur Government Hospital for treatment. DSP Khanal informed that the doctors declared both of them dead around 3:45 pm.
