The District Administration Office, Chitwan, has implemented a new system to make the sale and distribution of LP gas more systematic and transparent.
After discussions with stakeholders on Friday to resolve the problems seen in the supply and distribution of gas in the market, the administration has decided to make the gas distribution need-oriented and increase special monitoring to control possible irregularities.
According to the notice signed by Assistant Chief District Officer Chiranjivi Sharma, gas will be provided on a priority basis to senior citizens above 75 years of age, completely disabled and handicapped people, and students living in rented rooms. The notice states that if people in these target groups have problems in obtaining gas, they can contact the District Administration Office's toll-free number 1660-5652001 and inform them.
In accordance with the decision of Nepal Oil Corporation, gas industrialists and sellers will have to keep a clear record of the quantity they have received and sold by selling gas. Arrangements have been made to submit the details to the District Administration Office on a daily basis. The administration has stated that strict action will be taken if irregularities are found in the details.
The administration has urged general consumers to contact the nearest seller to purchase gas, not to hoard gas more than necessary, and to increase the use of electric stoves to reduce gas shortages. If you have information about gas being sold secretly or illegally, you are also requested to report it to the toll-free number or police hotline number 100. The notice states that everyone's cooperation is needed to make the gas distribution system fair.
