In Ramechhap, a 106-year-old woman has also expressed her faith in democracy by voting in the House of Representatives elections.

106-year-old Mankumari Pandey of Manthali Municipality-12 voted from the Secondary School Sikral Center in Gelu, Manthali Municipality-12 on Thursday.

According to polling officer Dilli Adhikari, Pandey was brought to the polling station by her relatives. Although she could not vote herself due to her extreme old age, she voted through a relative.

'Voting at the age of 106 is not a common thing. My mother could not vote herself, she voted with the help of a relative,' said polling officer Adhikari.

Pandey's citizenship certificate states that she was born on 5th Shrawan 1976 BS, he said. The official said that even at such an advanced age, showing the feeling that one should participate in the election and express one's vote is an example of deep faith in democracy.

According to the polling officer, 89-year-old Hem Bahadur Pandey also voted from the Sikral Secondary School polling station.
