Local 45-year-old Bir Bahadur Rai had attacked his 46-year-old wife Rita Rai with an axe in their own house. He died on the spot, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office, Suryaprakash Subedi. As soon as the incident was reported, a team led by Police Assistant Inspector Naresh Kumar Rai arrested Bir Bahadur.
The reason for the murder has not been revealed yet. A team led by Police Inspector Ashok Kumar Yadav has been deployed from the Area Police Office, Kapilakot for further investigation.
The incident site is about 4 kilometers east of the Hariharpurgadhi Police Post and about 32 kilometers west of the Area Police Office, Kapilakot.
