A team of 16 people, including traffic police, led by Police Inspector Deepak Thapa from the Manahari Area Police Office was deployed to the scene.
Twenty-two people have been injured in a passenger bus accident at Bijauna, Manahari Rural Municipality-7, Makawanpur, which falls under the East-West Highway section. The injured have been taken to Chitwan for treatment.
The accident occurred at around 7 am on Sunday when a passenger bus (Ba Pra 06-001 Kha 0054) heading from Birgunj to Chitwan lost control and hit an electric pole on the left side of the road.
A team of 16 people, including traffic police, led by Police Inspector Deepak Thapa from the Area Police Office, Manahari, was deployed to the scene. 22 passengers on the bus suffered minor to moderate injuries in the accident.
Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Makawanpur, Pushkar Bogati said that all the injured have been rescued and sent to Chitwan for treatment. The bus is at the accident site and traffic on the highway is not obstructed. The accident site is located about 1 kilometer west of the Area Police Office, Manahari.
