Fifteen people have lost their lives and three have gone missing in five different road accidents in Ramechhap in the last one month.
According to District Police Office Ramechhap Inspector Rajan Prasad Timsina, there were 5 vehicle accidents in the district in the month of Magh alone. 15 people died and 9 were injured in those accidents.
Meanwhile, the body of a child who went missing in a passenger bus accident near Benighat Bridge in Manthali Municipality-6 on Magh 10 has been found. Ronish Tamang, 8, of Tilpung, Likhu Tamakoshi Rural Municipality-7, Krichan Tamang, 9, of Manthali Municipality-2, and Bishal Sunuwar, 24, of Gupteshwor, Umakunda Rural Municipality-6, went missing in the accident.
Among the missing, the body of Krichan Tamang, 9, of Manthali Municipality-2 was found on the banks of the Tamakoshi River below Tallo Khurkot Bazaar in Sindhuli on Monday morning, the seventh day after the accident, according to the district police. The search for two people, including a child, who were missing in the accident, is still ongoing.
On Magh 10, a passenger bus carrying BAP 001-05 Kha 9975 (formerly Araniko Yatayat Pvt. Ltd.) heading from Kathmandu to Okhaldhunga via Manthali-Khurkot Pushpalal Road via Sirise-Dhande in Ramechhap met with an accident near Benighat Bridge in Manthali Municipality-6. The bus lost control and fell off the road and sank into the Tamakoshi River.
