Two Indians sentenced to 18 years in prison for drug trafficking

The Makawanpur District Court has sentenced two Indian citizens to 18 years in prison each for drug trafficking.

The court has also ordered a fine of Rs 520,000 each. The bench of District Judge Nirmala Sharma Subedi on Tuesday convicted Kumar Gothwal, 25, and Manish Kumar, 20, of Hisar, Haryana, India, of dealing in opium and hashish.

The verdict was handed down, with each being sentenced to 15 years in prison and a fine of Rs 500,000 for dealing in opium. The police had seized 3 kg 460 grams of opium and 21 kg 460 grams of hashish from Gothwala and Kumar.

The Area Police Office, Palung, had arrested the accused duo along with an Indian car from Naukhande, Thaha Municipality-11, on 27th Poush, 2081. The accused duo are currently in Bhimphedi Jail.
