137 crocodiles raised at the Crocodile Breeding Center in Chitwan National Park have been released into the Rapti River.

With the latest release of 20 crocodiles on Monday, 137 crocodiles have been released into the Rapti River so far this fiscal year.

The crocodiles were released into the Rapti River, informed Avinash Thapa Magar, Information Officer of the National Park. According to him, crocodiles raised in the breeding center are released into their natural habitat. He informed that all the crocodiles released this time are females. 

According to him, 2,207 crocodiles raised at the center have been released into the river so far. The center raises crocodile eggs collected from the riverbank and babies born from crocodiles kept at the center and releases them into their natural habitat. Currently, there are 630 crocodiles at the center.
