As part of the government's national vaccination program, 4,403 teenage girls in Makawanpur will be vaccinated against cervical cancer with the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV).

Acting Chief of the Public Health Office, Laxman Ghimire, said that HPV vaccination is being given to girls in the 10-year-old age group studying in grade 6 of all 10 local levels of Makawanpur.

In the first phase, the vaccination campaign will be launched targeting students studying in schools from Magh 25 to Falgun 1. After that, a regular vaccination campaign will be conducted under the second phase until Falgun 22, said Acting Chief Ghimire.
