Janakalyan Secondary School has won the title of the 8th President's Running Shield Competition organized under Thaha Municipality-2082.

Janakalyan Mavi has maintained its dominance in the competition this time too, with its consistent excellent performance. With this, Janakalyan has managed to win the President's Running Shield for the eighth time. 

Janakalyan Mavi won a total of 34 medals, including 17 gold, 11 silver and 6 bronze medals, to secure the first place. Similarly, Swachhand Bhairav ​​Mavi won 9 medals, including 7 gold and 2 bronze medals, to secure the second place, while Bageshwori Mavi won 20 medals, including 4 gold, 9 silver and 7 bronze medals, to secure the third place.

Janakalyan Mavi, which came first, received Rs 20,000 along with the title. The second placer received Rs 15,000 and the third placer received Rs 10,000 along with a shield, medal and certificate. 

Under the Mayor's Cup Volleyball Competition organized on this occasion, Janakalyan Mavi and Matsyanarayan Mavi emerged as the winners of the title for the boys and girls, respectively. The first and second-place teams in the Mayor's Cup Volleyball Competition received Rs 20,000 and the second-place team received Rs 15,000.

A total of 1,318 student players participated in the competition in 17 categories. 18 secondary schools, both institutional and community, within Thaha Municipality participated. 

The competition  was organized by the Thaha Municipality Education Branch and managed by Janakalyan Secondary School for three days. The winning schools were awarded prizes by Thaha Municipality Mayor Bishnu Bista and others.
