Due to the increasing cold in the Gosainkunda area of Rasuwa, the tourist destination, water has turned into ice on the surface of the lake.
The Gosainkunda Rural Municipality has requested travelers and pilgrims to take special precautions as the risk of ice breaking and accidents while walking on the lake during the freezing weather increases.
Even though the water appears to be frozen, there is a deep crevice underneath, so there is a high possibility of it breaking suddenly when walking on the ice. The rural municipality office has urged everyone to take necessary precautions. In such a situation, as passengers can fall into the crevice, the rural municipality chairperson Kaisangnurpu Tamang urged everyone not to walk on the ice and maintain a safe distance, and also requested everyone not to disturb religious activities by walking on the pond.
The local administration, security personnel and the rural municipality have increased surveillance keeping in mind the potential risk as the cold weather is currently increasing in the Gosainkunda area and there are also tourists. Pilgrims and tourists have been requested to follow local information, instructions and safety standards. In addition, the security agencies have also requested that people travel safely only with a companion, as the snowy areas are slippery due to the adverse weather conditions.
