Kavre District Police has arrested a prisoner who was absconding during the Gen-G movement.

The arrested person is 28-year-old Prakash Shrestha of Dudhkunda Municipality-10, Solukhumbu, informed DSP Rabin Bista, Information Officer of District Police Kavre. 

Shrestha was serving his sentence in the Central Jail as per the Solukhumbu District Court's verdict in a rape case. Shrestha, who was sentenced to 17 years in prison by the Solukhumbu District Court, had escaped from the Central Jail on Bhadra 24 during the Gen-G movement. 

DSP Bista said that the police arrested him at 4:30 pm on Monday based on a special tip-off that Shrestha was hiding near Kathmandu University in Dhulikhel Municipality-4. He informed that the arrested person has been kept in the district prison office.
