The Bagmati Province Government has provided multi-year and resource assurance to 46 projects in various districts of the province.

The provincial government has provided multi-year and budget resource assurance for the construction of road bridges and suspension bridges. The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning has approved the procurement master plan for these projects in accordance with the 'Multi-Year Contract Agreement Criteria for Provincial Projects, 2082' through a ministerial decision and sent a letter of resource assurance.

Suraj Poudel, Information Officer of the Ministry, informed that the Ministry of Finance has given its consent to proceed with the multi-year contract process as per the proposal of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development. According to him, the approved projects include various strategic roads and bridges connecting local levels in Dolakha, Makawanpur, Dhading, Sindhuli, Nuwakot, Sindhupalchowk, Chitwan, Kavre, Rasuwa and Lalitpur. He said that the budget limit has been fixed for these projects up to the upcoming fiscal year 2085/86.

The budget assurance includes 46 small and large bridge projects, including the Bhokari-Sarekhet suspension bridge in Makawanpur, the Ghirtikhola bridge in Dhading, the suspension bridge to be built on the Indrawati River in Sindhupalchowk, and the bridge connecting Bais Bhanjyang and Pangsang in Rasuwa.

The cost of the multi-year and resource-assured projects is estimated at Rs 3.23 billion. The cost is estimated to be Rs 1.75 billion.3 billion in the current fiscal year, Rs 1.93 billion.99 billion in the upcoming fiscal year 2083/084, Rs 93 billion.97 billion in 2084/085, and Rs 17 billion.98 billion in 2085/086.

Multi-year and resource assurance has been given to those 46 projects, with the contract to be awarded in the current fiscal year itself. The procurement process should be started within the current fiscal year.

The ministry has stipulated that only projects for which preparations such as DPR, land acquisition, and environmental impact assessment have been completed will be given priority, that the liabilities created for the upcoming fiscal year will be managed by the concerned ministry within its own budget limits, and that all projects must be entered into the budget information system and computerized government accounting system.
