Police on Sunday arrested six defendants who were absconding after being convicted by the court in drug, sexual assault, and vehicular homicide cases.
Police have arrested Anup Dhakal, 21, of Dhading Gajuri-7, a fugitive accused in a child sexual abuse case. The District Court, Makawanpur, had sentenced Dhakal to six months in prison and a fine of Rs. 41,060 in the child sexual abuse case.
Similarly, the police have arrested Ram Bahadur Gole, 32, of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-14, a fugitive accused in a drug case. The District Court, Makawanpur, has sentenced Gole to one year and six months in prison and imposed a fine of Rs. 20,800.
Similarly, the police have arrested Sunil Motan, 42, of Manahari-7, a fugitive accused in a vehicular homicide case. The court had sentenced Motan to one month in prison and a fine of Rs. 24,000. The police have arrested Chandra Bahadur Tamang, 77, of Manahari-7, a fugitive accused in a vehicular homicide case.
The District Court, Makawanpur, has sentenced him to 1 year in prison and a fine of Rs 24,000.
Similarly, the police have arrested Dipendra Tiwari, 45, of Hetauda-7, an absconding accused in a sexual misconduct case. The court has ordered him to serve a month in prison and a fine of Rs 12,000. Amit Lama of Hetauda-14, who was sentenced to one month in prison and a fine of Rs 12,000 in a drug case, was arrested by the police and presented in court.
