The CPN (UML) has changed its candidate in Chitwan-1. The name of Kamal Pathak, who was the Chitwan District President, was previously decided. The party has decided to field Dawa Dorje Lama in his place.

Pathak said, "I have a health problem. I need to get treatment. That's why I decided not to stand up and nominate Dawa ji."

Dawa is the vice-chairman of UML's Bagmati Province Committee. He had won the Bagmati Province Assembly member election from Constituency No. 1 of Chitwan-1 in the 2074 election as a UML candidate. After that, he also became the Cooperative Minister of the Bagmati Province Government.
