The police have taken the four-legged animals, along with the vehicle, under control for allegedly transporting and illegally exporting them in violation of animal welfare, according to the police.
Makawanpur police have taken 85 cattle, including six vehicles, under control in three months.
The police have taken control of the animals along with the vehicles for illegal transportation and exportation, contrary to animal welfare, the police said. Makawanpur Police Spokesperson DSP Pushkar Bogati said that the Makawanpur District Police and its subordinate offices have taken control of 85 cattle and 6 vehicles during the three months from Kartik to Poush. He said that the police have taken control of 10 people on charges of illegal transportation of cattle and filed a case. It was found that the animals were being illegally transported during the inspection of vehicles at various places. The animals, vehicles and people taken into control by the police have been sent to the Animal Services Office, Hetauda for necessary action. Out of the six actions taken during that period, cases have been registered in 3 cases and fines have been taken in the rest, according to Makawanpur Police.
Spokesperson Bogati said that the condition and legality of the transportation are also being studied as the transportation of livestock is done in a difficult manner and is contrary to animal welfare.
