The Phonies Dialogue program on the political impact of the Genji movement has concluded. The program was organized by the Federation of Nepal Indigenous Journalists (FONIJ) Ramechhap on Sunday to mark the 110th birth anniversary of Satyanarayan Bahadur Shrestha, who is considered the founding president of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FONIJ).

The program discussed the background of the Genji movement, its political impact, the increasing political activism of the youth, and its impact on democratic practice. In the program, former Minister of State for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation and Nepali Congress Ramechhap President Purna Bahadur Tamang (Kancharam) said that some groups had fulfilled their interests by claiming that there was infiltration in the youth movement.

Bagmati Province Industry, Tourism and Environment Committee President Anand Kumar Shrestha said that the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24 should be looked at separately and an impartial investigation should be conducted.  Shrestha, who is also a leader of the CPN-UML, said that although the party is in favor of the restoration of the parliament, the UML is ready to go to the elections if the government creates an environment for elections.

Manthali Municipality Mayor Lav Shrestha commented that although some of the demands of the youth movement were legitimate, everything fell apart when the movement reached a decisive stage. Prem Bahadur Thapa, Deputy Chief of the District Coordination Committee, Ramechhap, said that the Gen-G movement was born as dissatisfaction among the youth generation grew due to the continuity of the same leadership for a long time, increasing unemployment, high prices, corruption and lack of good governance.

At the program, Federation of Nepali Indigenous Journalists, Bagmati Province President Yubaraj Shrestha presented a discussion paper claiming to be the founding president of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Satyanarayan Bahadur Shrestha, and the political impact of the Gen-G movement.
