The reconstruction of a three-story waterfall located in Chyamrangbesi, Bethanchowk Rural Municipality-1, located in the southern part of the district, has begun.
The village office has started reconstruction after the waterfall was damaged by last year's floods and landslides. After the natural beauty of the waterfall began to attract tourists, additional structures were built a few years ago with an investment of Rs. 3.5 million in partnership with the Bagmati Province government, the village office and various organizations.
The office's spokesperson and ward chair of ward no. 1, Madhusudhan Timalsina, informed that reconstruction has now begun with a budget of Rs. 1 million from the village council. According to him, the pond and collapsed structures have been built and brought back to their original condition. He said that despite the damage caused by the floods and landslides, the reconstruction has been started by allocating a budget in the current fiscal year as the attraction of tourists has been seen.
The number of domestic tourists to the waterfall is still increasing daily, says ward chair Timalsina. The number of tourists to the waterfall between Chhyalam-Faimarang in the picturesque settlement of Chyamrang Besi, surrounded by mountains on all sides, is increasing every year. Earlier, a swimming pool was built in the water falling from the waterfall, a fence around the pool, and stairs and a fence were built to view the second floor of the three-story waterfall.
The cold water waterfall located in the forest-source of the Mahabharata mountain range is named the Three-story Waterfall because it flows in three floors. Taking a dip in the cold, Kanchan, Sanlo and Shuddha pools was another attraction here. Timalsina said that those who want to observe the waterfall and spend a few days there come from Banepa, Dhulikhel and Panauti in Kavrepalanchok and other domestic tourists who make travel packages. It seems that all kinds of tourists are eager to post photos and videos taken after reaching the waterfall on social media.
Currently, a few hotels and lodges have been arranged from the site before reaching the waterfall to visit the three-story waterfall. Locals say that visitors from outside the district are interested in local traditional food in addition to viewing the waterfall and swimming. Local businessmen say that the trade in traditional food such as food, honey, vegetables and local corn, gundruk, etc. has increased in the local village. Different routes can be used to reach the waterfall depending on the area.
It takes about 25 kilometers to travel by road from Panauti Bus Park in Kavre. The Panauti-Dhurkhak road is about 13 kilometers of gravel and paved road, and then the 12 kilometers of uphill road are not much difficult to travel by car or motorcycle. Especially during the blooming season of red gourds, the area attracts new travelers.
Similarly, another road to reach the waterfall is from Lalitpur district. From Gottikhel in the southern part of Lalitpur, via Chandanpur and Kaleshwor, one reaches Chyamrang Besi after a downhill journey of about 10 kilometers. This route is also not very difficult as it is a paved road up to Chandanpur and then a dirt road. Similarly, even during winter, the Bethanchowk-Phapbari road leading to Hetauda, the capital of Bagmati Province, also passes near the waterfall.
The waterfall is known for its multitude of people who enjoy swimming in the pool filled with clean, clear, clear and clear water while observing the waterfall along with the panoramic view of the mountains.
