A fire broke out in the kitchen of the house of local 62-year-old Durgaman Bomjan, killing his daughter-in-law Sushila Bomjan, 32, on the spot, Superintendent of Police Lal Dhwaj Subedi of the District Police Office said. According to him, Durgaman Bomjan's right hand, right leg and back were burnt and she is undergoing treatment at the District Hospital Sindhuli. Police said that they received information that her father-in-law was also burnt in the fire when they tried to extinguish the fire after seeing her daughter-in-law on fire during lunch.
The deceased Sushila, her mother-in-law, father-in-law and nanda were at home at the time of the incident that took place on Sunday afternoon, Superintendent of Police Subedi said. The deceased's husband is working abroad and she has two sons and a daughter.
Subedi informed that the police have started an investigation into the incident.
