Construction of a modern and well-equipped assembly hall is underway at the premises of the District Coordination Committee, Ramechhap, with an investment of over Rs 50 million.
Once the hall is built, it is expected that the lack of large and well-organized assembly halls in the district will not pose a challenge in conducting assemblies and conferences. The construction company has stated that about 15 percent of the work on the assembly hall, which was started a few months ago by demolishing the old building and sports field, has been completed.
The assembly hall, which will be built at a height of 7.15 meters with underground parking, will have a capacity to accommodate 500 people at a time.
Shyam Chandra Budhathoki, head of the Intensive Urban and Building Construction Project, Ramechhap, said that an agreement was signed on Asad 13, 2082 for the construction of the assembly hall. According to him, although the estimated cost was Rs 82.648 million including VAT, the DS-SR Builders Yojana JV has awarded the contract for Rs 54.125 million including VAT. The construction work is targeted to be completed by Poush 16, 2083.
Deputy Chief of the District Coordination Committee Ramechhap, Prem Bahadur Thapa, said that this new hall being constructed is important for the district as there are frequent problems due to the lack of a well-organized assembly hall in Manthali. 'Manthali does not have a well-equipped hall for large meetings and conferences. Although there is an assembly hall in Tinlal Park, it is far from the market and the capacity is not sufficient. The new assembly hall has been started at the right time,' he said.
According to Thapa, this building will be established as the largest and most organized assembly hall in the district due to its underground parking, five hundred seat capacity, and modern structure.
