Eight gamblers, including a public representative, have been arrested from East Chitwan. They were caught while gambling at Lal Chowk, Kalika Municipality-6.
Those arrested include Ratnanagar Municipality-12 Chairman Sundarmani Subedi. According to Subash Bhatta, Deputy Superintendent of Police of the Area Police Office, Ratnanagar Tandi, those arrested are Thakur Prasad Bhatta, 60, Jhalak Amgain, 56, Santosh Lama, 54, and Mohan Dangal, 66, of Kalika Municipality-6. Similarly, Ram Kumar Dangal, 55, Ash Bahadur Gurung, 49, and Shiva Bahadur Amgain, 48.
Rs 71,210 in cash and playing cards have been recovered from them. He said that an investigation has been initiated against the arrested under the Gambling Act. They were arrested on Saturday evening.
