Ganga Maya Tamang, 65, has died after being attacked by a wild animal in Bangesalla, Manthali Municipality-9, Ramechhap.
Ward member Dhan Lal Tamang said that locals suspect that Tamang, who was going from her home to the cowshed, may have been attacked by a tiger or leopard.
The body of Tamang, who was living alone at home, was found in a tattered state on Saturday morning near Bangesalla Pipaldanda, on the border of Manthali Municipality-7 and 9, along the Puranagaun-Bhatauli road. The body was found with its throat slit and body parts torn off, said ward member Tamang.
The cowshed near the incident site is about 100 meters away from Pipaldanda, and Tamang may have been attacked by a tiger or leopard on Friday evening while she was going to the cowshed or returning from the cowshed, said ward member Tamang. A police team is on its way to the incident site, according to the District Police Office, Ramechhap.
