The annual session of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly has been concluded. The cabinet meeting of the Bagmati Provincial Government held in Hetauda on Wednesday decided to recommend the end of the current session of the Provincial Assembly.
According to the spokesperson of the provincial government and Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Prabhat Tamang, the recommendation has been made to the provincial chief to end the current session from midnight on Thursday.
Although the government was preparing to elect the vacant speaker of the provincial assembly from the annual session, it was not possible due to the lack of agreement between the ruling Congress and UML. The post of speaker is currently vacant in the provincial assembly after the resignation of the then speaker Bhuwan Pathak after the Gen-G movement.
The Congress-led government is struggling to hold a meeting due to the mandatory provision to elect the speaker within 15 days of the provincial assembly.
