Police have taken five people into custody for criminal mischief, vandalism, and arson during the Bhadra 10 protest.
The District Police Office, Makawanpur, has informed that Sujan Adhikari, 36, and Surendra Rana Magar, 35, of the same place, have been taken into custody on charges of arson and vandalism at the house of Sushil Poudel, a resident of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-11, Nawalpur on Bhadra 24.
Further investigation is underway against them by obtaining a stay order from the District Court, Makawanpur on charges of criminal mischief and robbery. Similarly, the police have arrested three more people on charges of vandalism and arson at the Bagmati Province Assembly Secretariat building and the District Traffic Police Office, Makawanpur building during the protest on the same day.
Those arrested include Punam Thakur, 27, of Sarlahi Barathawa Municipality-1, Pramod Mahato, 27, of the same place, and Sagar Ghatane (Rom Bahadur Ghatane), 43, of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-8. It has been stated that the necessary legal process has been initiated against those arrested.
