Traffic services have been disrupted on the Kantilokpath connecting Hetauda and Kathmandu. Incessant rains have caused rocks to fall on the road at Ghattepakha in Bakaiya Rural Municipality-11 of Makawanpur, disrupting traffic on the road, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Pushkar Bogati, spokesperson of the District Police Office.
He said that dozers and manpower have been mobilized to clear the landslide and make the road operational.
Similarly, the Hetauda-Kulekhani-Sisneri-Dakshikali road connecting Hetauda-Kathmandu is still not operational. The road was blocked since Saturday evening due to a landslide in Jyamire, Indrasarobar Rural Municipality-3, Makawanpur, along with incessant rain. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Bogati, vehicles coming from Kathmandu to Hetauda and from Hetauda to Kathmandu are stopped on the road after the road was blocked.
Although the landslide clearance work is underway, there is a problem in opening the road as the soil is wet due to continuous rain and rocks and soil are falling, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Bogati. Police have urged the use of alternative roads as it will take time to make the road operational.
