A house was destroyed in a fire that broke out at Thet Bahadur Mahat's house in Saghuntar Laxmibas, Ramechhap Municipality-3, last night.

Neighbor Surya Mahat said that the fire broke out after the electric line connected to the refrigerator shorted out, completely destroying all the belongings, including the three-room house with a zinc roof that was rebuilt after the earthquake.

According to him, the fire started at around 10 pm last night and was brought under control by locals at 12:30 am. All the property inside the house, including food, clothes, utensils, and group materials, was destroyed in the fire.  He said that the initial estimate of the damage caused by the fire is around 2.8 million rupees.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhola Bhatta, Chief of the District Police Office, Ramechhap, work is underway to collect detailed information about the damage.
