An excavator driver was electrocuted on Syafra-Rasuwagadhi section on Saturday. District Police Office Police Spokesman Raju Shah informed that 50-year-old Shiv Paudel of Rasuwa's Kalika Rural Municipality-3 died due to electrocution.
Police spokesperson Shah said that the driver was electrocuted when the bucket of the excavator touched the live electricity transmission line while helping to remove the cargo truck whose wheels were stuck due to mud on the highway surface near the sand mine of Timure-Tatopani section.
The police said that the body was taken to the district hospital for post-mortem. Excavators have been working in the Timure area for a long time, locals said. The police said that further investigation is going on regarding the incident.
