The government has provided funds for the first installment for the construction of temporary housing for the victims of the district who lost their homes in the 2081 October disaster. 3 thousand 128 victims of 13 local levels of the district have been provided Rs 7 crore 79 lakh 25 thousand relief for the first installment.

For the second installment, around Rs. 40 million, which has been disbursed to the account of the office, is in a state of stagnation as most of the local levels do not demand it. It is said that only two levels requested the second installment from the office and distributed it to the victims. According to Assistant Chief District Officer Sudarshan Shrestha, so far Bethanchok and Roshi Rural Municipality have taken the amount of the second installment.

The government had prepared a procedure to provide Rs. 50,000 per household for the construction of temporary housing in the first installment of Rs. 25,000 and in the second installment of Rs. 25,000. According to the office, the amount of the second installment is Rs. 196 million from Bethanchok and Rs. 461 million from Roshi rural municipality and Rs.

There are 90 families in Dhulikhel Nagar, 41 in Banepa, 634 in Panauti, 88 in Panchkhaal, 133 in Mandandeupur, and 884 in Namobuddha among the beneficiaries of the first installment. Meanwhile, a detailed damage assessment (DDA) is being carried out for the damaged private residences in Kavrepalanchok due to the floods after the incessant rains of the second week of October 2081. It is said that the DDA of Roshi rural municipality has been completed in about six months since the damage assessment was started. Even after a year of the

incident, the reconstruction work of private housing damaged due to various reasons is still in a standstill. However, it has been reported that the government has not been able to proceed with the private housing reconstruction work due to the fact that the complete details of the private housing damaged by the landslide have not been received until now.

In the last week of March, a detailed damage assessment of private residences was started from Roshi Rural Municipality, which suffered the most loss of life in the district. It was started by the then Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar from Roshi rural municipality-2 Narayanatar. 18 technicians have been deployed in the district for detailed damage assessment to gradually provide subsidies for the construction of permanent houses. Special attention has been drawn to local people's representatives and chief district officers for facilitating detailed damage assessment of private residences.

Out of the 13 local levels of Kavrepalanchok, which have suffered the most loss of life, Namobuddha Nagar, Panauti Nagar, Bethanchok Rural Municipality, Temal, Bhumlu, Khanikhola, Mahabharat Rural Municipality and other affected local levels have not been able to obtain detailed damage assessment data.

81 people of Kavrepalanchok lost their lives due to the landslide. Six people are still listed as missing and around 100 were injured.
