Urine and blood culture services have been started in Manthali Hospital with the aim of proper use of antibiotics and reducing antimicrobial resistance.

Manthali municipality head Lav Shrestha formally launched the service on Sunday. Speaking at the service launch ceremony, Mayor Lav Shrestha praised Manthali Hospital for expanding the range of health services despite various challenges including lack of manpower. 

'There are problems in the hospital including manpower. However, we are constantly striving to provide effective healthcare services to the citizens," he said, adding that the hospital should be made more capable and trustworthy by correcting the weaknesses seen.

He said, 'Once this service starts, the patients of Ramechhap will not have to go to Kathmandu or other cities for treatment.' Manthali Hospital located in Manthali Municipality-1 has been upgraded and brought into operation with a capacity of 15 beds from 27th January 2078. 

Since then, the hospital has been adding various new services. According to the hospital, more than 200 patients from neighboring Okhaldhunga, Dolakha, Solukhumbu and Sindhuli districts are benefiting from this hospital.
