Ramechhap municipality has become a local governance municipality. During a special ceremony on Saturday, Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Indra Bahadur Baniyan declared Ramechhap Nagar child friendly. All the 9 wards of the municipality had already been declared child-friendly local governance.
The municipality received this recognition after completing all 51 indicators of child protection, rescue, development, participation and institutional development.

Along with this, he emphasized that the municipality has become a child marriage-free and child-labour-free city.
In the announcement meeting, Mayor Loveshree Neupane released a report containing the programs and achievements of the municipality. According to him, there are 10,241 children under the age of 18 in Ramechhap Municipality. He said, 'Although child-friendly local governance has been adopted as a policy since February 2nd and 3rd, 2078, it has been intensively continued since October 25th, 2079. After nearly four years of efforts, the municipality has succeeded in becoming a child-marriage-free, child-labor-free and child-friendly child-friendly local governance city. According to him, after the evaluation of the District Monitoring Committee on May 27, all the wards were declared child-friendly local governance. He informed that the municipality has also prepared the necessary plan for sustainability. In the
program, former Minister of State for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Purna Bahadur Tamang (Kancharam), Social Development Minister of Bagmati Province, Kanchanchandra Bade and State MP Taranarayan Shrestha mentioned that the announcement of child-friendly municipality is a great achievement. In the
program, children showed awareness plays and cultural performances.
