Makwanpur District Court has sentenced a young man to imprisonment for more than 15 years after finding him guilty of opium trafficking.
Judge Shakuntala Karki of District Court Makwanpur on Wednesday decided to sentence 27-year-old Sudip Kumar Chepang of Raksirang Rural Municipality-5 of Makwanpur to 15 years and 4 months of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 550,000.

Chiranjeevi Thing of Raksirang-8, who is involved in opium smuggling, is absconding. Keshavraj Kaushik, information officer of the court, said that the case has been adjourned in his case.
Makwanpur police arrested Chepangdway with 9 kg 820 grams of opium on 8th Chait 2080 from Pangche of Manhari Rural Municipality. Chepangdway is in Bhimfedi jail.
