Bagmati province is going to build 9 agricultural produce market centers in 9 municipalities. The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development of Bagmati province is going to establish an agricultural produce market center based on information technology in partnership with the municipality.

 

With the aim of marketing agricultural products at the municipal level, agricultural produce market centers will be established in 9 local levels of the province in the first phase. is about to be installed . current year  In 2082/083, agricultural produce market centers will be established in Bhimeshwar Municipality of Dolakha, Golanjor Rural Municipality of Sindhuli, Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality of Sindhupalchok and Madi Municipality of Chitwan. Similarly, the ministry said that in the first phase, agricultural produce market centers will be established in Thackre Rural Municipality of Dhading, Bagmati Rural Municipality of Lalitpur, Manthali Municipality of Ramechhap, Nagarjun Municipality of Kathmandu and Shankharapur Municipality.

Ministry's spokesperson Sujan Kandel said that four basic subjects will be mandatory in the agricultural produce market center. System based on information technology will be mandatory in the centers. A moisture center and a pesticide residue testing laboratory will be mandatory in every market center . Agricultural ambulances (transport vehicles) will be arranged for the transportation of agricultural produce.

According to the ministry, a budget of Rs 9 crore has been allocated in the current year for the establishment of centers in nine municipalities. According to the Ministry, 30 percent of the cost of the local level and the conditional grant budget of the rest of the provinces will be included in the program. The Ministry expects that the program will solve the agricultural produce marketing problem. For the program, the ministry has said that it is currently in the process of creating a procedure.
