A girl has died after being swept away by the Debar River in Panauti Municipality-1, while a young man has gone missing in the Sunkoshi River.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rameshwar Twanti, head of the area office, the body of an 11-year-old girl who was washed away by the river was found at 5:00 pm on Thursday. A detailed investigation is being conducted into the incident, whose identity has not been revealed. The dead girl's body has been kept at Shir Memorial Hospital in Banepa for post-mortem. 

Similarly, a young man has gone missing since Thursday afternoon in the Bhotekoshi river at Dolalaghat in Kavrepalanchok. 23-year-old Mahesh Darzi of Bhumlu Rural Municipality-1 Rithe was swept away by Bhotekoshi. It is said that the tailor was swept away by the river while trying to save his cooker that fell into the river. According to the police, a search operation is being carried out by the armed police and the district police team of Darji, who lives near the Dulaleswar temple located in Bhumlu-8.
