United Ambulance Drivers Association Nepal Chitwan district branch has submitted the circular to the district administration office on Friday. They demand that the provision in number 11 of the ambulance directive issued in August 2078 should be cancelled.
The memorandum states that only hospitals can operate ambulances and other organizations will recommend for renewal based on the agreement of government hospitals, so many ambulances will be displaced and drivers will lose their jobs. Similarly, the association has protested that the 10-year-old ambulance was removed without giving any alternative. Suman Ghale, Chitwan president of the
association, handed over the notification letter to Assistant Chief District Officer Chiranjeevi Sharma. The union has 12 points of demand. They demand that private vehicles should be stopped to wait for dead bodies, regular training for ambulance drivers and provision of free medical treatment.
