Two ward residents of Bhumlu rural municipality of Kavrepalanchok have got red portion of their land after 50 years. Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Minister Balram Adhikari has started distribution of Lalpurja on Tuesday.
Since the year 2032, the residents of the present two wards of the rural municipality (the then Bhumlu and Phalante gavis) were under the rule of Lalpurja. In the initial phase, Lalpurja has been distributed to 431 landowners of Ward No. 7 and 8 of Bhumlu Rural Municipality. On Tuesday, the office has informed that 185 landowners of Ward No. 7 and 246 landowners in Ward No. 8 have been distributed.
For this, surveyor office Kavrepalanchok had been working at the local level since 25th June 2071. The MP of Kavrepalanchok and the then minister Gokul Baskota inaugurated the field office in Bhumlu Rural Municipality on 20th of Masinar 2076. According to the
office, currently 450 Lalpurjas have been made in two wards, while about the same number of Lalpurjas have yet to be investigated and made. Ashok Kumar Bhusal, head of the office, informed that 300 Lalpurjas should be made in Ward No. 7 and 600 in Ward 8.
The arable land called 'Tar', which had been earning from Savik's Pipaltar gavis, fell into both Bhumlutar and Falante gavis when Pipaltar gavis was split.
At that time, there was a dispute after both villages claimed the arable land. In 2032, the work could not be done due to the dispute between the team that went to Napi and the leadership of the two villages. Even in the year 2035, the locals were not able to get the red portion of the land as the work was not done.
