The Bagmati state government has decided to create a high-level integrated mechanism for rescue, relief and response within the state.

The decision was taken at the first cabinet meeting held on Tuesday under the leadership of the newly appointed Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Banian. According to Krishna Kumar Tamang, Minister of Water, Energy and Irrigation, who has been assigned the responsibility of spokesperson, the Minister of Internal Affairs and Law, Coordinator and heads of related administrative bodies will not be members of the mechanism. He informed that it has been decided to keep the mechanism in readiness and provide the necessary materials immediately.  The

meeting has decided to coordinate the mobilization of government agencies and other organizations through the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law in view of the risks that may occur due to natural disasters. 

Similarly, Minister Tamang said that it has been decided to arrange temporary accommodation for those who have lost their homes due to natural disasters such as floods and landslides within the province. The meeting decided to immediately repair the roads damaged by the calamity in collaboration with the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure of the Federal Government and related local levels and make arrangements for traffic. The

meeting has decided to give instructions to the relevant ministries to implement the resolutions passed by the state assembly. Minister Tamang said that it has been decided to give high priority to the proper habitat of the extremely poor marginalized community, foresters within the province. Vankariya with a total of 93 people is a marginalized and endangered caste living only in Manhari Rural Municipality of Makwanpur. Due to lack of land in their own name, this community has been deprived of government housing facilities.

Chief Minister Banyan has announced that he will build a house and hand it over to a very marginalized family in his constituency from his monthly salary, said Tamang, the spokesperson of the government. 

Spokesman Tamang informed that the meeting decided to provide scholarships based on certain criteria to Jehendar students who want to study higher education in the health sector due to the economic situation.
