Due to the delay in the construction of the new building, the students are forced to study in the old building.
The 18-room new building of Chandeswari Secondary School located in Umakunda rural municipality-4 of Ramechhap has been derelict for five years. According to the locals, the construction of the building started in 2078 with the investment of Asian Development Bank (ADB) has not yet been completed.
The main contractor of the building is Himal Adhikari. Ganesha Shrestha, a local, said that the construction company has stopped the work for a long time and the building has become stagnant and the structure is getting dilapidated. "When an engineer from ADB took a contract of 90 million for 50 million, how can it be done in time?" asked,' Shrestha said.
Man Bahadur Sunuwar, Ward President and School Management Committee Chairman, complained that he had to rush to Kathmandu along with the rural municipality president to meet the builders. 'We went to Kathmandu and asked them to speed up the work. If we work at that time. But they did not work,' he said. President Sunuwar said that there is no clear information about the progress of building construction and how long it will be completed.
Chandeswari Secondary School, which provides education up to class 12, is teaching in the old building due to lack of building.
