Strangling his sick wife

The husband strangled his sick wife at his in-laws house in Bungdol, Makwanpurgadhi rural municipality-5. On Saturday morning, 45-year-old Man Bahadur Shivbhakti strangled his 40-year-old wife Durgalakshmi Shivbhakti when no one was at home.

After the murder, Man Bahadur himself attended the district police office Hetaunda and informed that he had killed his wife. According to the District Police Office, the police team reached the spot and took him into custody.

Man Bahadur's permanent home is Bhimfedi rural municipality-1. He used to visit his in-laws every now and then. Durgalakshmi had been living in the in-laws house with her two sons for the past 2 years, unable to walk due to paralysis. Man Bahadur used to go to his in-laws to meet him and his sons. Before the murder, he had reached his in-laws on Thursday as well.

According to the statement given to the police, Man Bahadur said that he was always under stress because his wife was in a condition where treatment was not possible for a long time and because of that stress he strangled her to death. He said that after the murder, he tried to commit suicide by hanging himself, but he came in contact with the police after the rope was cut.

According to local Shyamalal Thing, the rope snapped when he tried to commit suicide by tying a rope on the second floor of his mother-in-law's house.
