The Bhatauli bridge that connects Manthali municipality-7 and Khandadevi rural municipality-4 is at risk of erosion. The structure of the pillar is becoming weak when the flood of the river hit directly with the incessant rain on Saturday morning.

According to local Kedar Prasad Dhungel, although the flood of the river had a moderate effect a few days ago, Saturday's flood has greatly affected Pillar. "The pillar on Pakkarbas side is very dangerous, the retaining wall has also been washed away, it is not possible to operate large vehicles," he said.

According to Krishna Prasad Paudel, Ward President of Khandadevi-4, the structure is becoming weaker as the flow of the river hits the pillars. "Now only small vehicles can run," he said.

After the Khurkot bridge was washed away in October last year, a Belybridge was installed in that area. But since cargo vehicles weighing more than 15 tons cannot use the belay bridge, now all cargo vehicles are being operated from this Bhatauli river bridge.

Kailash Prasad Dhungel, a permanent resident of Khandadevi and President of Bagmati Province Committee of UML, said that the damage to the concrete bridge should be taken seriously and attention should be paid to the relevant agencies for immediate protection and repair. He asked the local and technical bodies to take necessary steps to make the movement easy and safe.

Under the Local Road Bridge Program (LRBP) with the help of the Swiss government, the Swachhand Creation JV had constructed the bridge at a cost of around 4 crore rupees in 2071/072 . This concrete bridge is considered very important in the alternative transport network of Ramechhap. This bridge connects Ramechhap headquarters Manthali with Khandadevi, Doramba Shailung and Sunapati Rural Municipality and is on the alternative road to Kathmandu. Locals are concerned that if the bridge is further damaged, it will have a serious impact on alternative transportation and supplies in Kathmandu.

When the Khurkot bridge was swept away by the floods in October last year, vehicles traveling from Ramechhap and Dolakha to Kathmandu used this road.
