Out of 351 missing persons including women, men, senior citizens and children in Makwanpur district in the last financial year, 34 have not yet been found.
According to District Police Office Makwanpur, the highest number of women went missing in the year 081/082. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (Spokesperson) Shyamu Aryal, 157 women went missing during that period, of which 140 were found but 17 are still missing.
Similarly, 84 men of various ages were reported missing, 78 were found and 6 are still missing. During the same period, 71 girls went missing, out of which 66 were found but 5 are still missing.
According to the police, 23 children have been reported missing, 22 have been found and 1 has not yet been found.
According to Asai Nandkala Tamata, Head of Women's Cell of Makwanpur District Police Office, 16 senior citizens went missing last year, 11 of them were found and 5 are still missing.
spokesperson Aryal said, 'Out of the 351 missing last year, 317 people have been found, but 34 people have not been found yet. The search is on as to where they disappeared.'
According to the estimation of women's cell, it is assumed that even if some people returned home, the information may not have come to the police office.
