Chisapaniko Dwara Tol located in Manthali Municipality-8 of Ramechhap, where many people lived until a decade ago. From dawn to late at night there was activity, laughter and life.

'There used to be a lot of people in this village,' says Keshari Shrestha, a 40-year-old local, 'the laughter of children in the morning, the sound of herding cattle, and the tradition of sitting and talking in the neighborhood's yard in the evening have all disappeared.' She said that more than half of the village has more than 25 houses. She said that even in the house where there are people, there are only elderly mothers.

Rajkumar Shrestha of Manthali Municipality-8 Sinki Danda, who is about to turn 40, also remembers the past, "10 years ago, this settlement was buzzing". As children are concentrated in the city for higher education, and people migrate abroad through the city for employment, now our villages and settlements have become devoid of people.'

Monthly-8 The situation is similar to that of Chisapani in several settlements of Ramechhap. Due to the attractiveness of the city, the search for employment and the lack of quality education, people are losing from the villages . The people who entered the city did not return, the old people in the village houses are also struggling alone with the barren fields, deserted fields and the terror of monkeys .

'There are no hands capable of farming in the village, even the crops planted by hardships are not eaten by monkeys,' says 60-year-old Nanda Bahadur Achami of Manthali-8 Jale Paharka, 'There is no basis for living in the village now.'

After the people leave, the village becomes a ruin

Monthly-8 Chisapani Ward President and City Spokesman Gopal Shrestha says that even though development infrastructure has been reached in the village, the problems of employment and education have not been addressed and people are fleeing from the village. It is his experience that the main reason for the village to be empty is that the trust of the people of the village is decreasing towards the public school and the trust is increasing towards the private school.
