The Chitwan Chanauli distribution center of Nepal Electricity Authority will cut power supply for 6 hours a day from Sunday due to the increase in demand in summer.

Rajkumar Shrestha, the head of Chanauli distribution center, said that the electricity will be cut for three hours in the morning and three hours from noon to evening. Electricity is being supplied from Chanauli in West Chitwan and Madi areas.

It cannot be said that it is load shedding. Because now the demand for electricity for irrigation is very high, this has been done to manage the load according to the feeder,'' he said. This problem will not last long, it will be easier from Tuesday to Wednesday.'

Chanauli distribution center has eight feeders. Feeder wise schedule has been published. He said that the problem has increased due to the fact that the 33 KV conductor wire coming from Bharatpur to Chanauli cannot transmit more than 300 MPa and the demand for electricity has reached 450 MPa.

Shrestha says that last year, the work of bringing another line from Baseni substation is under construction and the load increases when the motor is driven in extreme heat and sowing. He said there are also deep borings in West Chitwan.
