Chitwan National Park has arrested and prosecuted 442 people for various crimes related to the park in the last financial year. Two hundred and sixty-six people were arrested for forest-related crimes and one hundred and seventy-six people were arrested for wildlife-related crimes.

Information officer of the park, Avinash Thapa Magar, said that eight people were arrested in the rhinoceros case, one in the tiger case, 26 in the wild boar case, three in the bird case, five in the salak, 126 in the fish, five in the gravel, five in the sand, 141 in the grass and 87 in the niguro.

He informed that 23 people who entered the park without permission, entered the prohibited area of the park, two people were arrested for the snow leopard crime, five for the leopard and four for the mushroom related crime.

Stating that 26 different cases have been registered against those arrested, Magar informed that four cases have been registered in the district court and other cases have been registered in the park office. The cases registered in the court are related to salak, rhinoceros and tiger. 

14 of the cases registered by the park have been decided. He said that those cases have been decided along with 27 cases that came under responsibility from the previous financial year. According to him, there are 26 cases that have come under responsibility for the current financial year.
