291 snakebite patients have been treated in the Bharatpur Hospital here in the last three months. With the onset of the rainy season, the number of snakebite patients has increased in this hospital.

According to Alauddin Mia, in-charge of the hospital's emergency room, 60 people were treated in the month of Baisakh, while 105 snakebite patients were treated in May. Out of which five patients are bitten by poisonous snakes. 

Similarly, 126 snakebite patients have been treated in the month of June. Mia informed that nine patients were bitten by poisonous snakes. Apart from Chitwan, patients from Makwanpur, Nawalparasi (Bardghat-Susta East), Tanahun, Gorkha, Lamjung come to this hospital. Those who come to the hospital are kept under observation for at least 6 hours and treated according to their symptoms.

Venomous include karat, cobra, goman, viper etc. Karet and Goman, doctors say that the bite of a cobra affects the patient's nerves, while the bite of a viper affects the blood elements of the patient.

Patients who have been bitten by poisonous snakes are being treated in the hospital's intensive care unit, while others are being treated in the emergency room, said Mia, the in-charge of the emergency room at IAko Hospital. At present, 10 to 12 snakebite patients come here daily for treatment.
