Five people have been arrested from Tikauli along with rare wild animals. Chitwan National Park and the new Gorakh Gana team of the Nepali Army stationed in the park took them under control on Monday.

The park office has not disclosed the details of the person arrested. Conservation officer Avinas Thapa Magar, who is the information officer of Chitwan Park, said that they were arrested along with three motorcycles.

Information officer Thapa Magar informed that they were caught near Ratnanagar municipality-9 Tikauli Forest while following the suspicious persons based on the information that sal khata was being transported.

Salak is a protected species . The shape of the body of the salak, which is becoming very rare, looks like that of a mouse. For this reason, salak is killed illegally.

There is a legal provision that illegal hunting and illegal trade and transportation of salak, when it is a protected animal, can be punished with a fine of one to five lakh rupees or imprisonment from one year to 10 years or both imprisonment and fine .
