25,733 households in Chitwan are at risk of floods and landslides. According to the District Disaster Management Committee, 1 lakh 28 thousand 665 people in seven municipalities of the district are likely to be affected by the rains.

Statistics show that 50 thousand 950 people from 10 thousand 109 houses will be affected the most due to flood in Rapti municipality.

Similarly, preliminary data shows that 33 thousand 175 people from 6 thousand 635 houses in Bharatpur Metropolitan Municipality, 19 thousand 730 people from 3 thousand 946 houses in Madi Municipality, 11 thousand 905 people from 2 thousand 381 houses in Ratnanagar Municipality will be affected, according to the district administration office.

Similarly, 5,025 people from 1,500 families in Kalika Municipality, 1,600 people from 320 families in Khairhani Municipality, and 6,280 people from 1,256 families in Ichchakamana Rural Municipality were informed by Chief District Officer Prakash Paudel.

He said that all preparations have been made for safety in view of the incident that may occur due to flood. Residents on the river banks have been requested to exercise caution.

In addition, all the structures for rescue have been kept in readiness and the relevant agencies have been requested to keep the necessary food, health supplies, rescue materials in readiness,' said Chief District Officer Poudel.
