The road section that was washed away in Kodari (Eco) of Tatopani crossing connecting Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-2 to China has been repaired and put into operation.
According to Amit Shrestha, head of Charikot road division office, the blocked Kodari highway on Thursday (26 km) the road has been opened by removing the landslide that fell from above. This is the fourth time that Tatopani crossing has been closed due to road flooding in Kodari Eco. "The work of opening the road has been done on Thursday. There has been a problem at the Tatopani crossing because the road has not been washed away all winter. We are trying to make the road regular," he said.
In the eco section, the highway is getting blocked every day due to the stones falling from above and the road being washed away after the rain. The road was washed away in Kodari on Sunday as well.
As the highway was completely blocked, dozens of containers carrying goods from China were stopped at Liping for customs procedures. Earlier, the road was made smooth by removing the blockage at this place, Khakundol and Koplan, in which two excavators were used. At present, Beilibridge is connected to Larcha. The checkpoint was closed after about 15 feet of the road was washed away in the Koplan area. After the Bhotekosi flood that occurred in Rasuwagadhi on Tuesday, the residents of this place have become more frightened with the suspicion of the same incident. The district administration Sindhupalchok has informed about the rains in Tibet along with the border and other coastal areas for alertness.
