The Bagmati state government has honored drivers and co-drivers who operate vehicles in a disciplined and dignified manner.
The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Transport of the province honored 15 drivers and co-drivers on Wednesday as part of the best drivers and co-drivers award program.
Minister of Labour, Employment and Transport Prem Bhakta Maharjan, Secretary of the Ministry Birendradev Bharti, President of Narayani Transport Professionals Association Hiralal Shrestha and Secretary General Saroj Khanal awarded the drivers and co-drivers. Three female drivers are also among the awardees. Drivers Naveena Khadka, Sarita Gautam, Januka Gautam along with Yadav Thaplia, Kancha Shrestha, Sharansingh Lama, Bishnu Bahadur Rokka, Kush Kumar Dhakal, Dhan Bahadur Tamang, Krishnahari Pudasaini and co-drivers Deepesh Bhaiya, Ramesh Chaudhary, Rajesh Thapa Chhetri, Sanjay Praja and Suresh Rumba were honored.
All of them were given 15,000 cash each by Sunita Gajurel, Head of Labor, Employment and Transport Division. According to him, the selection of the best driver was done by the Narayani Transport Business Association. The assessment, selection and recommendation made by the association was reviewed by the evaluation committee at the ministry level and the final decision was taken.
Minister of Labour, Employment and Transport Maharjan said that the attractiveness of drivers who operate vehicles on long routes is decreasing This action will encourage employees. He said that it is the driver's responsibility to ensure a safe journey by addressing the passengers' complaints and for their contribution, 15 people were honored for the first time. Expert Advisor Tulsi Rizal, Head of Division Bimal Prasad Bhattarai and Sunita Gajurel, Head of Transport Management Office Chitwan Bharatpur Bishnu Kumar Bhattarai, President Shrestha of Narayani Transport Traders Association, Vice President Bishnu Vidari, General Secretary Khanal, Evaluation Committee Member Vishwaraj Rai and others were present in the
program.
